Day 0 – Three burgers in three countries

Starting Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands

Ending LocationReykjavik, Iceland

Details of the day:  I awoke at 4 AM (1 1/2 hours early).  Tim E. and I took a train to Schiphol and caught a morning flight to Copenhagen, Denmark.  We had lunch in Copenhagen, and then caught another plane to Iceland.  Picked up LandRover Freelander 2 4×4.  Very nice service, they met us at the airport and had it all ready.  Drove into town, checked into hotel and went across the street for dinner.  Admittedly, not an exciting trip yet.

Where did the Post name come from?:  My son had a hamburger for breakfast at the Burger King in Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam.  Then for lunch in sports pub he had another one in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Finally for dinner tonight he had a burger at Ruby Tuesdays across the street from our hotel in Reykjavik.  So much for a cultural experience.

Photos of the day

Photo 1:  This one gives you a good idea of the weather.  Wet, foggy and cold.

Photo 2:  The landscape is remarkable.  It is hilly, no trees, looks like a lava field covered in dead moss (I suppose that is because that is what it is).  Spring has not arrived here yet.

Note:  Our camera was deep into a bag, so these are representational pictures.

Plans for tomorrow:  Visit sites in and around Reykjavik, Iceland. Saga museum, boat to island in bay.  etc.

About plimtuna

I am just an average guy trying to find his way along this journey of life. I am definitely middle aged. I am definitely happily married with a wife and two children. Personally, I have a passion for things eternal. Professionally, I have a passion for things that are securely in control.
